Italiani che lasciano l'Italia locandina
Italy is a country with one of the largest historical diasporas. In the past forty years, it has also turned into a country of immigration, while continuing to be a point of departure. Since the 2010s, the number of Italians emigrating abroad has visibly grown in size. What are the characteristics of this new phenomenon, and how does it differ from the past? What does it tell us about the local and global socio-economic mechanisms affecting the needs and desires of people who look for opportunities some place else? These themes are discussed in the volume Italiani che lasciano l'Italia (Italians Leaving Italy) which will be presented by the co-editors Marco Alberio and Fabio Berti in conversation with the respondents Teresa Fiore and Monica Miscali, and the moderator Guido Bonsaver on Tue. Feb. 23 at 12:15pm (New York) / 17:15 (London) / 18:15 (Rome). This online event - free and open to the public - will be in Italian with optional simultaneous interpretation into English. See more details and registration link in the flyer below and on the webpage.
