The lecture will present the National Acts in force regulating the “prevention policies” of domestic violence at both local and nationwide level. It is crucial to determine what types of assistance are available for victims of violence and what prevention tasks have to be fulfilled by Local Authorities such as Municipalities, Counties, Voivodeships and which ones should be carried out by Central Government.
The lecture will illustrate the specificity of Local System of domestic violence prevention (organized at municipality’s level). This prevention is based on actions of interdisciplinary teams and workgroups. The lecture will also present the scheme of actions taken by Social Assistance Units in Poland aiming at preventing domestic violence. The aforementioned actions are based on procedures called ‘Blue Card’. Moreover, it will be presented the police statistics concerning the actions taken as ‘Blue Card’ procedures in Poland in years 2012-2015. Finally, it will be shown the results of some nationwide Researches concerning effectiveness of actions taken by Local System of domestic violence prevention, in the opinions of its victims.
